Software architect, builder,
and problem solver.
I'm Chris Edgington, a software engineer based in rural Indiana with thirty-three years of hands-on experience building and shipping software. I run EdgeCraft Studio, where I take on consulting projects that need someone who can see the whole picture — from database to front-end, from architecture to production.
I've built and maintained systems for years, sometimes decades. That kind of long-term ownership teaches you what matters — clean interfaces, proven architecture, software that other people can work on after you. Even in the age of AI-driven development, I still follow the old-school practices that keep software maintainable: careful design, thorough testing, and never cutting corners on the parts nobody sees.

Chris is the guy you want on your team to make sure your product ships.
In addition to his strong software skills, Chris draws from a deep well of leadership experience, enabling him to act as the nuanced voice of reason in the midst of challenging project scenarios.
Chris is one of the most intentional, honest, and dedicated engineers that I have ever had the pleasure of working with.
What I Do
Full-Stack Apps
Front-end, back-end, database, edge workers, native applications. The whole stack, top to bottom.
APIs & Integrations
REST APIs, payments, OAuth, third-party services. The parts that connect everything.
Cloud & Infra
AWS, GCP, Cloudflare. Docker, CI/CD. Built to run in production, not just demo.
Architecture & Code Review
Independent assessment of existing codebases. I find the real problems and give you a clear path forward.
AI-Assisted Development
I use Claude Code, Cursor, and Copilot daily — but with thirty-three years of judgment behind every decision.
Expert Testimony
Need an expert witness who can analyze a codebase and provide a clear, credible opinion? I've done it.
Consulting & Mentorship
Guiding teams through technical challenges. Architecture decisions and hands-on leadership.
Platform Training
Stuck on a platform I know? I can help you get past blocking issues and build confidence with tools like Windmill, Cloudflare, and Convex.
Platform Expertise
Windmill.dev
Open-source platform for scripts, workflows, and UIs. My go-to for backend automation and internal tooling.
Cloudflare
Workers, Pages, R2, D1. Edge-first infrastructure that lets me ship fast and scale without thinking about servers.
Convex
Reactive backend-as-a-service. Real-time queries, server functions, and database in one package. Eliminates so much boilerplate.
Recent Work
ProxyBox
A hardware + software product I designed and built from scratch. A Raspberry Pi-based appliance that lets any web application print to local printers through a REST API. Embedded software, cloud dashboard, and device management — the whole product from concept to customer.
Enterprise ERP Integration Suite
18-month project building a full suite of integrations between a cloud ERP and external systems — ShipStation for parcel shipments, FedEx and UPS for rating, UTS for LTL, Stripe for credit card payments, and a custom integration to voice picking software that required reverse-engineering a low-level TCP socket interface. One early proof-of-concept had a 30-person warehouse team cheering — it reduced processing time from minutes to seconds.
taister.ai
Full SaaS platform with authentication, payments, and three AI APIs working in concert. 200+ hours of development. Built entirely with AI-assisted tools, guided by patterns I've refined over decades.
Autodesk Fusion 360 Plugin
Complete CAD plugin from scratch. Custom tooling workflows integrated directly into Fusion's API for manufacturing clients.
E-Commerce Buying Agent
AI agent that takes a product link and completes the entire purchase flow automatically — navigation, cart, checkout, payment.
MongoDB 6→8 Migration
16,000+ lines changed across a production codebase. Would've taken three weeks by hand — completed in six hours with AI-assisted tooling.
